It has been almost 2 months coming off ZZZQuil and intend to never go back to this extremely addicting drug and even though this is available from Over the Counter. This OTC in my opinion is worst than the actual problem it was going to solved.
First of all, ZZZQuil uses diphenhydramine which is same thing as Benadryl. On it outside it states it is non addicting – but I started in 2008 using it daily and only in the last two months did I try to get myself off with more natural means. The following WebMD link shows it can cause similar symptoms that are in Parkinson’s. Hallucinations and confusions and other mental issues. This also includes difficult sleeping which I would think is entire purpose of this.

So I am trying, to get off and take natural ways to handle this and one of problem I am noticing is net to get up multiple time per night. So, I am taking Prostate to help with it. But it odd that one of side of effects of ZZZquil is trouble urinating.
One of natural sleep aids is Alteril which is made of all-natural substances. But oddly when I purchase it at Walmart, I was required to show ID for age – but the OTC drug ZZZQuil does not.

Part of my research has been listening to audio books and the current one is called
Brain’s Way of Healing by Norman Doidge, M.D.
I found that this audio book which I am halfway through currently, but I was amaze on discussion in this book and last 3 nights have all been on health issues for older adults, I purchase it on Amazon for them. What really scared me is that some of side effects of ZZZQuil.
My sleep issues are a problem, but I have decided that absolutely no drug is allowed in my system to combat it. I must find a natural solution and I know the CRAP machine would never work on me because I am sensitive to touch. I very interested in technique in Neuroplasticity show in this book can help me overcome my sleep issues.
But I believe that my sleep issue is not medical but deeply personal, it because of my struggle being alone. But that is another story and only being written on when I am ready. But I believe it is one of key solutions in my research.
Update: 03/25/2020 – in recent months I found that I was not hydrated and this is has been for a while.
